About
I was born in Los Angeles and grew up surfing along the California coast. In my late teens, immersed in the rhythm of the ocean, I began reflecting more deeply on life and meaning. This led me to Buddhism, which I began studying and practicing at eighteen. Over the years, I dedicated myself to the path of meditation, including living in Nepal in retreat, and creating courses teaching people Buddhism, meditation, and mindfulness.
Through that journey, I came to recognize a wisdom at the heart of all human experience, an awareness that is fundamentally clear, kind, and spacious.
Along the way, I recognized areas within myself that needed further healing and growth. This lead me to seek my own counselling to work on feeling my emotions, acknowledging them, and finding the freedom to trust my own values.
This recognition prompted me to return to university, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Counselling Psychology. Alongside my studies, I also sought further training and supervision to support people to regulate their emotions, improve their relationships, and heal past trauma.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active through swimming, cycling, and running and doing the occasional triathlon. I live on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, together with my wife and cat.

My Approach:
Emotional Intelligence
-
Strong emotions like anger are not bad—they’re part of being human. But when you don’t know how to work with them, they can take over. That’s where structured anger management comes in.
I don’t just offer general counseling around anger. I facilitate a National Anger Management Association (NAMA)–certified, evidence-based program, built around a 12-module curriculum. This program provides a clear framework for learning, while still being flexible enough to meet the unique needs of each individual.
The program can be taken one-on-one or in a group format, and it is designed to be both educational and skills-based. It gives you the tools, accountability, and support to not only manage anger in the moment but also create long-term change.
-
Learn to stay steady when emotions run high. You might be feeling like your emotions, especially anger or irritability, are running the show. Maybe you're reacting in ways you regret. You shut down, explode, or say things you regret. And afterward, you feel ashamed this keeps happening.
Together, we can begin change that. Emotional intelligence begins by learning how to stay present, even when emotions feel strong. You don’t have to push feelings away, but you don’t have to be overcome by them either. When you build this skill, you can slow things down and respond with intention instead of reacting out of unconscious habit.
We cannot always feel good, but we can always be present with our experience. With the right tools and support, you can stay more connected to yourself and to the people who matter most.

You may be looking for some extra support to work on yourself alongside couples counselling. That’s often needed and is something I regularly help with and it makes a big difference. When you start doing this work, your partner and family feel the difference.
You can build stronger relationships by learning to stay present, manage your emotions, and lead with clarity and care. And we can do that together.
-
A lot of men I work with come to therapy because they want to show up better for their partner, kids, and family. They’ve seen what happens when anger and stress take over, and they don’t want to keep going down that road.

For clients navigating trauma or painful life experiences, I also offer EMDR. Sometimes we need more than talk therapy to work through what we’ve carried. EMDR offers a powerful way to help the nervous system integrate and release trauma in a way that feels safe, grounded, and embodied. My practice of EMDR is framed in Polyvagal theory, emphasizing human connection and the nervous system to reprocess past experiences, current triggers, and future scenarios.
